The Lion King - Amazing

So I went to see the musical everyone has been talking about for the past few years and I can only describe it as AMAZING.

I absolutely loved it. Not only because of the whole show but because it was a way of going back to being a child and being 'wowed' by the whole thing. I had goosebumps during pretty much the whole musical.

The choreography and the songs were really good. The Lion King was one of my favorite movies when I was young and I was so excited when I got this as a birthday present because I had been wanting to go for a very long time. I would re-live it a million times more if I could...

Untill next time!

Manchester: Mini Make-Up Haul

On my trip to Manchester (UK) I picked up a few make-up goodies to try out. I bought just a few bits, but mainly brands I can't find in Spain. I had to take advantage!

The first item I purchased was the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in the colour Honey Douce (001). The reason why I chose this lip product was because I really was lacking a natural everyday lipstick/stain. I didn't used to wear as much lipstick but now I have kind of got to love it and really enjoy playing with different products. The colour looks darker on the picture than what it really is once you have applied it to your lips, as it turns out more like a pinkish stain rather than a dark pink. I think this is the perfect colour if you are going for a natural everyday look or if you want to go dramatic on the eyes but subtile on the lips. One of my favorite things about this product is it is so moisturizing for your lips and makes them look healthy and glowy (Fun fact: it actually smells like spearmint!)

The second item is the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in the colour Parisian Passion (005). Now, they did have an offer going on that was 2 Revlon lip products for 10 pounds, which if you ask me if a pretty good deal. I picked this one up because I thought the colour was so pretty, plus I really like the square packaging and I think it looks neat and sophisticated. The colour is a dark red, maybe a little bit on the pinky side, but not too much. It definitely adds moisture and shine to your lips which I'm not too keeing on because I prefer dark colours like ths one to set in place and be matte. I haven't worn it to go out yet but we will see how it goes

The third and last item is the Real Techniques Stippling Brush (by Sam and Nic Chapman). My actual make-up brushes aren't very good quality: the bristles fall off, they prick your skin, they aren't soft or gentle... I was on the hunt for good make-up brushes. I had heard several beauty gurus on Youtube talk about this brand and include it in their make-up routines. I thought they looked like good quality brushes for a reasonable price compared to other high-end brands so I thought I'd give it a go. I haven't used this one yet but I do see a difference compared to my old brushes. This brush feels much softer and you can instantly notice the difference in quality. I will most certainly be purchasing more Real Techniques brushes if this one is as good as I think it will be

That's all for my mini make-up haul. I'm quite excited to start getting some use out of the products I bought and see what I think of them later on. For now my impression isn't bad at all!

Christmas present: Trip to Manchester

Hello again!

Today I'm writing to you from Manchester, UK! Sadly, today is my last day here, as I only came for 3 days... Just a quick getaway for a long weekend. My trip was a lovely Xmas present and something I really didn't expect at all!

Let me explain a bit better: I live in Spain, but my mum is English (from Manchester) and my dad is Spanish. I have always loved everything about England and considered it my hometown, so when I opened my Xmas card that had a Ryanair ticket to Manchester in it I was over the moon with tears of happiness in my eyes. I was so happy because I hadn't visited Manchester or my family from there in 2-3 years... I missed it so much! We had to squeeze in as many things as possible in these three short days.

The first day we went to the centre of Manchester, had a "bacon butty" for breakfast and started our day with a little shopping. Then we had a lovely lunch in an italian restaurant with family from the UK, and then carried on with our shopping! When we got back to my aunties house (where we are staying for the weekend) we celebrated my uncles birthday with a lovely dinner: indian takeaway! We had such a nice time chatting and catching up, and even playing a few funny games.

The second day we spent in the Trafford Centre, which is a MASSIVE shopping centre. I just can't come to Manchester and not go there. It's become a tradition of ours. We spent the whole day there, from shop to shop. I just love English shops as we don't have most of them in Spain, so I tried to do my summer clothes shopping while I was here.

Today is the third day and the day I'm going back home. I have to get my flight in a few hours, but we can hopefully stop by a small village on the way to the airport before we go back. Next time I post it will be from my actual house in Spain. Untill then!

My Current Fashion Favorites

Lately I have been so inspired by different fashion styles and items. I have been loving certain winter items, as well as some spring/summer ones. A plaid scarf is something I have been wanting for so long, but never get around to buying one for myself. You can pair it with anything, really. It can go really well with a simple outfit and a nice long classy coat, also with a plain jumper. It can really add colour to any outfit and spice it up!
Statement jewelry can dress up any type of outfit. If you're going for a casual look but still want to look put together you can dress with some casual clothes such as a pair of jeans and a nice jumper and add the statement jewelry... and done! Your outfit has instantly been dressed up while still looking casual and effortless. You can also wear this type of jewelry to provide something different to your already formal outfit. For instance, if you are wearing an all black outfit with not many special details the statement necklace or ring can give some colour and finish off your whole look.
Flannels are also a pretty nice clothing piece in my opinion. They are very casual and layed back, and most importantly, comfortable. I personally like flannels to be oversized, this way you can wear them as a simple cover-up for when it gets chilly, and you can also wear them buttened up with some tights, as a dress.
And last but not least: knee-high boots. I have grown to love these kind of boots quite a lot, as they didn't used to appeal to me, but now I can't wait to get my own! I think that if you combine them with the right outfit they can look spot on! They can make your legs look amazing! But for the short girls (like myself) I know these can be a little intimidating and scary as they can make you look shorter. The way to get round that is getting a boot with a heel as big as you want depending on your taste. This way you can add a little height and also make your legs look longer. Overall, I think this is a type of shoe that is quite flattering for any bodytype.
I hope you got some fashion inspiration or some ideas on what to change up in your wardrobe! Kelsey x
