Three Makeup Techniques I Wish I Had Known Sooner

Hello again!

In today's post I wanted to share a few makeup techniques I have learned over time. I started playing around with makeup when I was around 16 years old which was quite late compared to some of the girls who were my age. At the time I mainly used eyeliner and maybe a tiny bit of mascara. Eventually, I started trying out new products and gradually got the hang of it! But I do wish I had known a few things I know now.

1. Eyelash curlers: even when I used mascara my eyelashes would not stay curled or stand out. That's why I fell in love with the eyelash curler and I have never applied mascara without curling my lashes since then. This has to be one of my biggest tips: invest in a good eyelash curler, you won't regret it.

2. Contouring: This is a great way of giving shape and dimension to your face. You can really play around and figure out what suites you the best (contouring your nose, cheekbones...). I never really saw a purpose in this untill I tried it out myself and after a lot of practice I loved the result!

3. Eyebrows: I never thought filling in my eyebrows would make much of a difference on me untill one day I decided to give it a try. I don't have many sparce areas in my brows, but I did fill in a few and let me tell you: it made such a difference. As someone once told me: 'The eyebrows are the frame of the face' and now I understand why, because it can change the whole appearance of your makeup.

Happy Monday, Why not?

Good evening!

On today's post I wanted to talk about a day most people hate: Mondays. Today it is that day of the week that we all can't wait to be over with.

I know the struggle of pulling yourself out of bed on a Monday after sleeping in during the weekend. Of course there is no way of avoiding Mondays and having to go through them, so why not make the most out of it and make this day as good as possible? I'm not saying I'm the most happy and positive person on Mondays but I have recently been trying to see this day in a different perspective that will make me feel better. So here are a few tips and tricks for making your Monday the best it can be:

1. Feel good about yourself: Now this tip may seem silly, but your mood is in many cases affected by how you feel about yourself. My advice is to pick an outfit that is going to boost your confidence and make you feel like you have enough energy to get through the day. The same applies to make-up and hair. On Mondays I'm the first person that doesn't want to get all dressed up and I just want to wear casual and comfy clothes. You can deffinetly do that if it makes you feel better! It all depends on the person and the kind of mood you are in (for casual clothes or more dressed up).

2. Reward yourself: On Mondays we all have a hard time in getting our work done, whether it's school work or the work you have to do at your job. Unfortunately, we can't get rid of the work we have to do, but what we can do is make it a little easier by rewarding ourselves for doing it! Let's say you have to study for a test, so what you can do is study half and then reward yourself with half an hour of rest doing what you want such as watching TV, going on your computer... Once you get back to work you will feel more rested and ready to keep going!

3. Pamper yourself: Remember to always find time foryourself. After a long day of working hard and missing the weekend, what better option than to treat yourself to a nice hot bath or shower? No matter what day of the week it is you should always try to find some 'you time' to relax or do something you love, this will cheer you up and make you forget a little bit about the week ahead of you. So go on: run a bath, maybe throw in a bath bomb, apply a face mask, light some candles... Do whatever you need to make you relax and disconnect.

4.  Look formard to the next weekend: I know it's just monday but planning out your weekend and looking forward to it is what makes those 5 days fly by, and before you know it, it will be Friday again! Finding fun things to do in the weekend can really make you happy rather than waiting 'till Friday to think of something

If you think about it, being negative and sad on a Monday is only going to make it worse and longer... So why not cheer it up a little? I hope this was helpfull! Have a great week!

January Favorites 2015

Hi!

I have recently been loving certain things I have tried out this month and thought I would share them. So lets get started!

I've narrowed my beauty favorites to three. The first one is the 'Deborah Milano Terra Lumi-Nature Bronzing Powder' (04). I had been looking for a bronzer that wasn't too dark and not shimmery at all but all I could find were bronzers with too much orange in them. I finally found this one and I'm loving it so far. It gives you such a natural bronzed colour and it contours your face beautyfully.

I have also been loving the 'Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream' in the shade 'Ivory' (31). I was on the hunt for a good BB or CC cream that would give me very light coverage but at the same time even out my skin colour. My face has quite a bit of freckles so if I were to use a medium-high coverage foundation it would cover them up and it wouldn't look as natural as I wanted it to look. This CC cream doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it blends in very nicely, it also claims to provide 24hr hydration and SPF 15. Overall I think this is a very good product if you are looking to even out your complexion but still let most of your skin show through.

I have had this next product for a while now but forgot about it untill now, and it is the 'Moroccanoil Treatment for all hair types' which has an oily consistency. The reason why I like this hair product is because it leaves my hair feeling soft and silky and gives some shine to it. The way I use it is just aplying one pump of it on my fingers, I rub them together and distribute the product throughout the ends of my hair trying to avoid the top part of my hair as it can make it oily.

My favorite artist of the month has been Sam Smith and my favorite song of his is 'I'm not the only one'. I just think his voice is so different and at the same time touching because of the emotion he puts into his singing.

And last but not least is my favorite scent of the month which is 'Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium'. I actually bought this as a present for my mum for Christmas and ended up using it from time to time because it smells so good! It's not exactly a sweet smell, it has just the right amount of sweetness to it. I don't really know how to describe the smell very well but all I know is that it smells great.

That is it for my January Favorites. Untill next time!
